St Peter's Catholic College, Tuggerah is currently seeking an energetic and passionate Laboratory Assistant. The successful candidate will be suitably qualified and enjoy working in a dynamic and cohesive team.
This is for a temporary part-time role (42 hours per fortnight) to start on 18 November 2025 and end on 10 March 2026.

Specific Criteria
- Prepare chemicals, equipment, materials and teaching aids for all practical classes, College events and other programs
- Provide advice on classroom practical classes and assist when required
- Prepare and standardise school laboratory reagents and complete records in a laboratory notebook
- Clean and carry out routine maintenance of laboratory and classroom materials and equipment
- Ensure NSW legislative compliance of storage, labelling and disposal of chemicals, equipment and materials are adhered to at all times
- Assist Science staff in preparing equipment and setup of laboratories to ensure practical lessons run smoothly and in compliance with relevant regulations
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to support the learning of our students
- Relevant science qualifications would be an advantage. Diploma of Applied Science or equivalent
- Computer skills - Word, Excel, Google Docs etc.
- Excellent inter-personnel skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Flexible approach to staff and students
- Ability to manage changing priorities
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimum supervision
- Self-starter who shows initiative
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the use of Hazardous Substances Risk Assessments and Safety and Data sheets
