About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and dedicated Junior School Teacher Librarian to join our school community. This pivotal role plays an integral part in fostering a love of learning and reading within our dynamic Junior School, supporting students and staff in the effective use of library resources and information technologies.
Reporting to the Head of Junior School, the position involves managing the day-to-day operations of the Junior School Library, collaborating with teaching staff to enrich learning programs, and promoting literacy and inquiry-based learning across the curriculum.
This is a part-time, ongoing position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our students’ educational journeys while being part of a supportive and vibrant school community.
To be successful in this opportunity you will require:
- Current VIT Registration.
- Previous experience in a Teacher Librarian role.
- Involvement in Literacy, English and/Writing extension programs at a Junior School level (preferred but not essential).
- Experience in the use of Oliver and Synergetic software (preferred but not essential).
- Well-developed classroom management strategies which enhance student engagement and outcomes.
- An active supporter of and contributor to a collegial work environment.
- Ability to be proactive and take initiative.
- An ability to have attendance at out of hours events, as required.
- Highly developed organisation and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated innovative use of ICT to enrich learning.
- Willingness to uphold the ethos and values of the School at all times.
