Marian Catholic College is currently seeking a Part-Time, Permanent Inclusive and Diverse Learning Support Officer to commence January 2026

Marian Catholic College is an expansive co-educational 7-12 secondary school with a current enrolment of around 700 students. The College is located in the beautiful regional city of Griffith in the Riverina area, New South Wales. Marian has a diverse culture which is rich in learning experiences. The College boasts new educational facilities, having just completed and opened an outstanding Technological and Applied Studies Centre (TAS), and new Staff and Administration facilities.

Marian and its staff are highly committed to the learning and wellbeing of all students, always working to enhance learning opportunities for the benefit of all within the College. Your New Role

The IDL Learning Assistant works to support the development of a school community where all are respected and opportunities for students’ development and progress are maximised, thus enabling all students to experience success in the school environment.

The IDL Learning Assistant facilitates explicit connections between learning from everyday classroom teaching and structured interventions.

The Learning Assistant is uniquely placed to provide additional support to class teachers and to students to ensure they are able to access learning and learning activities.

What We Can Offer

  • Work Schedule: 16.5 hours per week, days to be negotiated

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the ideals of Catholic Education.
  • Proficient literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Minimum CERT III/IV Learning Support or working towards this qualification
  • NSW Working with Children Check
  • Successful Candidate to undertake a National Criminal History Check
  • Accreditation for Support Staff in a Catholic School (Category A,Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools, Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga) or working towards Accreditation.

Ability to:

  • Maintain confidentiality and model a professional approach
  • Build and develop positive relationships with teachers, students and families
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current best practice in inclusive education
  • Actively participate in professional learning opportunities provided by the School and or CEDWW including completion of all mandated courses for risk, WHS, Safeguarding, Positive Workplace Culture, etc.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current legislation as it relates to the needs of students, especially students with diverse learning needs and/or disability
  • Maintain a clear working knowledge and application of School and CEDWW policies and procedures
