About the role
Leading independent girls’ school, Camberwell Girls Grammar, presents an opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor to join our team on a permanent, part-time basis in January 2026.
Reporting into the Director of HR, you will be responsible for providing expert advice, guidance and support to CGGS staff, managers and candidates on HR policies, procedures, employment conditions and legislation. You will support day-to-day HR operations including recruitment, industrial and employee relations, HR projects and compliance.
The role is 0.6FTE with flexibility to work across 3 full days, or 4 or 5 shorter days. Fridays are a required workday.
You will make an impact by:
- Managing and facilitating end to end recruitment, from creating position descriptions and posting job ads, through to completing reference checks and candidate onboarding.
- Providing advice and guidance on HR and employee relations matters, including award, EBA and legislation interpretation.
- Contributing to the planning and delivery of cyclical activities, reporting, HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supporting the School’s compliance with industrial relations obligations and relevant legislation.
- Assisting the Director of HR and Risk & Compliance Manager with Occupational Health and Safety matters as required.

As an experienced HR Advisor, you are highly organised, detail focused and take pride in producing accurate work that is of a high calibre. Friendly and professional in your approach, you are able to build effective working relationships and manage stakeholders. Your ability to take the initiative, together with your strong work ethic, allows you to thrive in fast-paced environments.
You will have:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Formal qualification in HR or a related discipline
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (experience with Martian Logic is an advantage)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
- Current Working with Children Clearance or be willing to obtain one
- Current Criminal Record Check or be willing to obtain one
