Arndell Anglican College seeks a passionate HSIE Teacher (Term 1, 2026) to teach Stage 4–6 History, with Stage 4–5 Geography and an additional Stage 6 subject an advantage, in a Christ-centred learning community.

Situated on 30 acres between Rouse Hill and Windsor, Arndell caters for a growing population of almost 1300 students – with over 500 in Junior School (Prep to Year 6) and just under 800 in Secondary School (Years 7 to 12). Students are encouraged to grow in their individual abilities and interests within a learning environment that promotes optimism, respect, and ownership.

The Invitation

Arndell Anglican College invites applications for the position of HSIE Teacher, commencing Term 1, 2026.

The HSIE Teacher is responsible for fostering student learning and development, nurturing creativity, academic excellence, and inspiring a lifelong appreciation for the Humanities and Social Sciences. This role requires the applicant to have the ability to teach Stage 4-6 History, ability to teach Stage 4-5 Geography would be an advantage, and the capacity to teach an additional Stage 6 subject if required.

Reporting to the Head of HSIE, the successful applicant will deliver engaging and innovative programs that develop critical thinking, collaboration, and global awareness, while supporting students to achieve their personal best. The HSIE Teacher will also actively contribute to the wider life of the College, including co-curricular programs, pastoral care, excursions, and camps.

In particular, the HSIE Teacher will:

  • Have the ability to teach Stage 4-6 History, ability to teach Stage 4-5 Geography would be an advantage, and have the experience to teach an additional Stage 6 subject if required, using contemporary pedagogical approaches that engage and challenge students.
  • Design and deliver high-quality lessons that incorporate learner-centred assessment and differentiated instruction.
  • Provide clear, fair, and constructive feedback to support student growth and achievement.
  • Integrate technology and authentic, real-world contexts into classroom practice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary and cross-curricular learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to the Christian, pastoral, and community life of the College.

About You

As a HSIE Teacher, you hold tertiary qualifications in Education and are accredited (or eligible for accreditation) with NESA. You bring proven experience teaching across Stages 4–6 History, with the ability to teach Stage 4-5 Geography an advantage, along with the capacity to teach an additional Stage 6 subject.

You are passionate about your subject areas and committed to engaging students through meaningful and relevant learning experiences. You bring a collaborative and professional approach, demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills, and model the Christian values of the College in your interactions with students, families, and colleagues.
