Position Information
Quakers Hill High School is a comprehensive coeducational 7-12 public school, which forms part of the Nirimba Collegiate of schools, located in the north-west of Sydney. Our 2025 enrolment is approximately 950 students, which is an 11% gain since 2024.
Students at Quakers Hill High School benefit from comprehensive learning and support structures, classes for High Potential and Gifted students, and future focused learning. In the senior school, access to courses at different collegiate schools expands curriculum choice for students. The school has a Support Unit, providing three multi-categorical classes and two classes for students with autism spectrum disorder.
Quakers Hill High School is built on the lands of the Darug people. There are 53 students enrolled who are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Approximately 32% of students are from a language background other than English, most of whom have spent more than 7 years enrolled in Australian schools.
Learning at Quakers Hill High School is underpinned by the SMART Code, which supports all students to be Safe, Motivated, Academic, Respectful and Tolerant learners. This is the main expression of the school's commitment to Positive Behaviour for Learning. Students regularly take part in SMART lessons to enhance engagement and achievement across the curriculum.
Selection Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
1. Extensive experience using and managing NSW Department of Education and Third-Party systems with the ability to analyse and use data to improve school operations including the management and leadership of daily organisation, and whole school events such as NAPLAN and examination schedules.
2. Demonstrated ability to track, analyse, and respond to student attendance data, implementing proactive strategies to improve attendance, liaise with families, and ensure compliance with attendance policies and procedures.
3. Highly developed organisational skills to lead and support executive and administrative staff in managing daily school operations and compliance processes while fostering a culture of high expectations, efficiency and teamwork.
4. Demonstrated skills in data analysis and evaluative thinking to drive improvement in student outcomes using whole school and department planning, reporting and compliance processes.
General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity
