Head of Village (House) starting in 2027

We are looking for a Teacher who is passionate about Pastoral Care and is willing to contribute to a leadership role with Endeavour College.

For more than 28 years, Endeavour College in Mawson Lakes has thrived as a co-educational secondary school with a young history and a strong reputation for educating the minds, hearts, and spirits of students in Years 7-12, under the umbrella of the Lutheran Church in Australia. Catering to approximately 750 students, we offer an education that prepares them for their future years, whilst leaving lasting and treasure worthy memories.

The Junior School campus (R-6 years) has commenced construction, and it is anticipated to be open at the start of the 2027 school year.

About the role

Head of Village Role – 5-year Tenure

Teacher - Permanent

We are looking for a permanent full-time Secondary Teacher to commence at the start of 2027, who will also hold a position of additional responsibility for Head of Village (House).

The position will hold the responsibility for planning, organisation, implementation and delivery of quality instructional programs within a Secondary learning environment.

We envision an experienced teacher with a proven record in secondary education and pastoral care leadership, who has an understanding and is able to implement restorative practices and the principles of Lutheran Education to join the College.

You must have the following knowledge and skills:

• Excellent communication skills
• Motivation and a passion to work with and support young people on their journey through secondary education.
• Enthusiasm and flexibility with the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
• Ability and desire to actively support the values and ethos of a Christian school.

All teaching staff are expected to continually engage in professional learning and development to improve teaching knowledge and practices. All work is to be performed in accordance with Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) professional standards.

About you

You are highly organised, have excellent communications skills and have an ability to build strong relationships with a collaborative problem solving and solution-focused approach to their teaching practice and team skills whilst striving for continuous improvement.

The successful applicant will have:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and relevant leadership experience
• Hold or be willing and able to obtain and maintain a current clearance to work with children (WWCC)
• Hold or be willing to maintain a current Responding to Risk, Harm and Neglect in an educational setting (RRHAN-EC)
• Hold a current South Australian Teachers Registration Certificate
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong administrative skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan, set, and prioritise work
• Ability to work well under pressure of deadlines
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and proof-reading skills
• Significant experience leading a team
• Motivation and a passion to work with and support young people on their educational journey.
• Ability and desire to actively support the values and ethos of a Christian school.
