About the Role:
As Head of Special Education Services, you will be an integral member of the leadership team, working on consistent, whole school approaches in our growing school. The role also requires working with and providing professional growth opportunities for a range of people at various career stages and experience levels. The successful applicant will be confident to foster positive team cultures, work with the DP Inclusion to support day to day operations and whole school strategic work. Applicants require quality interpersonal skills to contribute to and manage teams, work with a diverse range of people and internal and external agencies.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Program Leadership and Coordination: Lead and manage the Special Education and/or Early Childhood Development Program to ensure the delivery of high-quality advice, support, and services for students with disability.
- Expert Guidance and Collaboration: Provide specialist advice to school leadership, teachers, and staff to plan, implement, and monitor effective reasonable adjustments and targeted interventions.
- Case Management and Student Support: Coordinate and deliver intensive teaching and case management for students requiring substantial or extensive adjustments, ensuring access to appropriate specialist services and supports.
- Data-Driven Practice and Compliance: Implement and oversee school-wide systems for tracking student progress, managing data, and meeting legislative and policy requirements, including the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD).
- Partnerships and Resource Management: Build strong partnerships with parents, agencies, and community groups, while effectively managing human, financial, and curriculum resources to achieve program and school goals.
