The Opportunity

St Patrick’s College is seeking to employ a capable, energetic, and motivated individual, who likes working outdoors to commence as a full time Grounds & Utility Officer (Level 1). This is a great opportunity for someone starting their career or looking to enter the facilities or groundskeeping field. The Grounds & Utility team provide critical operational support to ensure that the school’s grounds, buildings, plant, and equipment are well maintained, well presented, physically secure, compliant with all appropriate regulations and provide a safe environment for the school community. The successful candidate will be a team player, have a strong work ethic and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.

About You

As a Grounds & Utility Officer Level 1, you will have:

• A strong work ethic, eye for detail and a sense of pride in efficiently completing work to a high standard whilst maintaining the highest level of safety
• The ability to work collegially in a team environment, as well as the ability to work independently and to follow instructions and take direction
• Ability to effectively interact and maintain professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader College community.
• Reliable, punctual, and proactive in identifying and completing tasks
• Willingness to work outdoors and take on physically active tasks
• Motivation, enthusiasm and a great attitude
• Perform effectively in environments with competing demands, with the ability to coordinate routine activities, set priorities and deliver tasks on time.
• An understanding of and ability to contribute to the mission of St Patrick’s College as a Catholic school.
