The Facilities General Assistant will support the School in the maintenance and operations of the School’s buildings, cleaning, grounds and equipment, in a manner that is God honouring and consistent with the School’s vision to provide a Christ-centred education in a learning community of Love, Nurture and Service.

The Facilities General Assistant is responsible to the Principal through the Business Manager. On a day-to-day basis, duties are set by the Facilities Manager.

This is a full-time ongoing position which includes four weeks annual leave per year.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Assist in the day-to-day operations of buildings and grounds, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional school environment.
• Assist with the set up and pack up of school functions, assemblies, exams, etc.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, grounds and equipment.
• Assist in test and tagging school electrical equipment.
• Assist in the management and driving of School vehicles.
• Assist in working bees.
• Generally, assist the Facilities Team in all duties.
• Assist the Facilities Manager.
• Driving the school bus as required.
• Undertake other duties as required.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a recognised trade qualification, certification, or licence preferred.
• Industry training in WHS desired (E.g. White Card, Asbestos and Silica awareness)
• A current C Class or above Driver's license.
• Test and Tag Training desired.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, policies and procedures.
• Ability to use initiative and work in a manner that is safe.
• Appreciation of the value and purpose of well-kept facilities.
• Genuine desire and ability to work as part of a team and in a collaborative manner.
• Ability to manage their time and meet deadlines.
• Positive work attitude.
• Good quality of work produced.
