The Facilities General Assistant is responsible to the Principal through the Business Manager. On a day-to-day basis, duties are set by the Facilities Manager.
This is a full-time ongoing position which includes four weeks annual leave per year.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of buildings and grounds, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional school environment.
- Assist with the set up and pack up of school functions, assemblies, exams, etc.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, grounds and equipment.
- Assist in test and tagging school electrical equipment.
- Assist in the management and driving of School vehicles.
- Assist in working bees.
- Generally, assist the Facilities Team in all duties.
- Assist the Facilities Manager.
- Driving the school bus as required.
- Undertake other duties as required.
Selection Criteria
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a recognised trade qualification, certification, or licence preferred.
- Industry training in WHS desired (E.g. White Card, Asbestos and Silica awareness)
- A current C Class or above Driver's license.
- Test and Tag Training desired.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, policies and procedures.
- Ability to use initiative and work in a manner that is safe.
- Appreciation of the value and purpose of well-kept facilities.
- Genuine desire and ability to work as part of a team and in a collaborative manner.
- Ability to manage their time and meet deadlines.
- Positive work attitude.
- Good quality of work produced.
