Job Description

Commencing Term 2, 2026

Geelong Lutheran College is seeking a French Teacher to join the College for an extended fixed-term replacement contract from 20 April 2026 to 12 July 2027.

This role provides an opportunity to contribute to continuity of learning across Years 7 – 10, within a highly supportive Languages faculty.

The position is focused on effective delivery of established programs, strong collaboration, and consistent support of student wellbeing through the tenure. With curriculum frameworks, assessment programs, and resources already in place, the successful applicant will be able to step confidently into a well-structured teaching environment.

Position Details

• Part-time position (0.46 FTE)
• French Teacher
• Commencing Term 2, 2026

Responsibilities

• Teaching French across Years 7 - 10
• Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons aligned with existing curriculum and assessment programs
• Assess and report on student learning in line with College expectations
• Support student wellbeing and foster a positive, inclusive, and orderly classroom environment
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience

Qualifications and Skills

• Holds appropriate tertiary qualifications and current VIT Registration
• Has demonstrated experience teaching secondary French
• Is organised, adaptable and able to step into an established program with minimal lead-in time
