Summary

The Executive Officer – Policy and Performance plays a key strategic role in supporting the Policy and Performance Executive and Function Team to drive organisational performance, policy development and effective decision‑making. This position provides high‑level executive support, oversees complex communication and stakeholder engagement, and leads or contributes to strategic projects that shape organisational direction. With responsibility for analysing data, preparing influential reports, and coordinating critical information flow, the role ensures the Executive is equipped to progress priority initiatives and deliver strong operational and strategic outcomes across the organisation.

About the opportunity

In this position you will:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the Policy and Performance Executive, including stakeholder liaison and communications.
  • Provide strategic analysis and advice to influence organisational policy, direction, and operational outcomes.
  • Lead implementation of governance processes of which the Policy and Performance Function team are responsible.
  • Lead administrative operations, secretariate duties and review processes for organisation Committees chaired or delegated by the Executive.
  • Contribute to projects through research, data analysis, evaluation of options, and preparation of recommendations.
  • Prepare and quality assure high‑level reports, briefings, technical papers and committee submissions to support executive decision‑making.
  • Build strong internal and external partnerships to enhance service delivery and organisational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with BCE functional leaders across areas of speciality and school leadership teams when required.
  • Support financial and administrative operations, including budget preparation, cost tracking and reporting.
  • Build capability within and across business areas to improve operational performance and efficiencies.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:   

  • Leading a variety of projects to meet operational outcomes.
  • Experience providing executive‑level support, ideally to C‑suite or senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data and influence decision‑making.
  • Proven ability to prepare clear, concise, and compelling reports, papers and briefings.
  • Worked with multiple stakeholders and leadership teams in your area of specialty and have the ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business administration or related discipline are desirable but not essential.
  • Relevant experience in similar executive‑support roles is highly regarded.

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
