Reporting directly to the Principal, this executive leadership role is responsible for the strategic direction and operational leadership of the School’s people, workplace culture, human resources and industrial relations functions.
The position
Reporting directly to the Principal, this executive leadership role is responsible for the strategic direction and operational leadership of the School’s people, workplace culture, human resources and industrial relations functions.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the role ensures that CGGS attracts, develops and retains high-performing staff, while fostering a values-aligned culture that supports wellbeing, engagement and professional growth.
A defining component of the role is leadership of the School’s employee value proposition, ensuring the School continues to be an employer of choice, attracting, developing and retaining excellent staff in the teaching and professional domains.
The role provides authoritative advice to the Principal and Board on workforce strategy, industrial relations, organisational capability, and people-related risk, ensuring that workforce considerations are embedded across the School’s operations, culture and governance.

Canberra Girls Grammar School (CGGS) is an independent, non-selective Anglican school with an enrolment of approximately 1,300 students. Spread over two campuses, the School is co-educational from Early Learning to the end of Year 3 and girls only from Years 4 to 12. Boarding facilities are available for girls in Years 7 to 12. Established in 1926 by the Sisters of the Church, led by Mother Emily Ayckbowm, CGGS is the oldest private day and boarding school in the ACT.
