What you'll be doing

Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, provide safe, compassionate, person centred care in collaboration with individual/s and the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve quality care outcomes for patients and clients.

Assist in the evaluation of nursing care through provision of information, documentation and reporting changes in patient's conditions and participation in Unit meetings and discussions.

Acts as a preceptor to other enrolled nurses, undergraduates, Assistants in Nursing and work experience students as appropriate.

Work within own scope of practice and seek support, learning and education where required.

Where the occupant of the position is medication endorsed, administer medications in accordance with NSW Health and Far West LHD policies and procedures.

  • Current Endorsed Enrolled Nurse registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated application of professional and ethical boundaries to the delivery of patient care in the context of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to advocate for and implement individualised person centred care patient care.
  • Demonstrated capacity to identify and resolve conflict situations by managing own emotional responses and interacting with others in a personable and professional manner.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work and partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait, Islander patients and families and employees to enhance health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
  • Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
  • Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based best practice and its contribution to changing practice and policies within the organisation.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills within a multidisciplinary team.
