Early Childhood Teacher (Active)

Willunga Preschool is seeking a passionate and committed Early Childhood Teacher to join our team as a maternity leave backfill.

At this stage, the position will commence in Week 7, Term 3 and continue through to the end of Term 4, 2026. For the right candidates, there is potential for this to extend into a full-year maternity leave contract in 2027.

We are a standalone Department for Education preschool located in the heart of Willunga, with a small, close-knit team of educators who value strong relationships, collaboration, and professionalism.

As a smaller site, connection is at the heart of everything we do. We prioritise open communication, mutual respect, professionalism, and a positive team culture. Flexibility, integrity, and a collaborative approach are essential to how we work together.

Position details:

• 0.5 (2.5 days a week)
• Opportunity for relief days in the lead-up to support a smooth transition and ensure mutual suitability

We are looking for someone who:

• Demonstrates a strong understanding of trauma-aware practice, self-regulation, and co-regulation.
• Values and has experience in nature play and outdoor learning environments
• Builds positive, professional relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• Works collaboratively and contributes positively within a small team
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Has experience with curriculum planning, including social-emotional programs such as Kimochis
• Demonstrates inclusive practices and an understanding of supporting neurodiverse children
• Demonstrates confidence using ICT to support documentation, communication, and planning (experience with platforms such as Seesaw, Microsoft Teams, Canva, and Department for Education systems such as EMS is highly regarded)

Desirable:

• Experience with the Floorbook approach
• Familiarity with Reggio Emilia or inquiry/curiosity-based learning approaches
