About the Opportunity

We are seeking an engaging, enthusiastic and highly professional Diverse Learning Assistant, who is passionate about ensuring all students learn to the best of their ability.

The role of Diverse Learning Assistant is to work closely with teachers to support the diverse needs of the students in their class while actively participating in lessons. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute meaningfully within a collaborative learning environment, nurturing and empowering students with diverse learning needs across Years 5-12.

This role is Permanent Full-Time role commencing as soon as practicable.

• Provide learning support to individual and small groups of students with diverse or special needs (Years 5–12).
• Provide students in-class alongside the classroom teacher, as well as during practical activities, excursions and camps, including personal care where appropriate
• Preparing and sourcing learning resources and assessments for students whose current achievement is significantly below their current stage of schooling (generally 2 stages).
• Support short-term targeted intervention programs for individuals and small groups.
• Integrate digital learning into learning activities suitable for students with diverse needs.
• Demonstrate a commitment to academic pastoral care and supporting student well-being.

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualifications and/or experience in working with students with diverse or special needs.
• Experience working with Primary and Secondary students (highly regarded).
• Display passion, commitment, integrity, knowledge and expertise.
• Warm and welcoming manner as the primary point of contact for students with diverse needs.
• Sound understanding of the learning and social/emotional needs of students with disabilities.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with all members of staff, students and parents.
