???? Key Responsibilities

As Deputy Head of Pastoral, you will:

• Support the strategic leadership of the whole‑school pastoral provision
• Oversee behaviour, attendance and student welfare systems
• Lead on targeted pastoral interventions and student support programmes
• Work effectively with Heads of Year, SLT, SEN teams and external agencies
• Promote high expectations and a positive school culture
• Contribute to safeguarding practices and ensure compliance
• Build strong relationships with students, families and colleagues
• Mentor, guide and support pastoral staff to drive positive outcomes

• Strong background in pastoral leadership within a secondary school
• Excellent understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management and attendance processes
• Confident in managing challenging situations calmly and professionally
• A compassionate, proactive leader with a student‑centred mindset
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to inspire colleagues and influence whole‑school improvement
