Working closely with the Head of Music, the successful applicant will provide leadership across all aspects of the College's String Program, inspiring students from ELC to Year 12 and fostering a culture of excellence, inclusion and enjoyment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the College's ELC–12 String Program.
- Conduct and rehearse the College's premier string ensembles and support the development of junior ensembles.
- Provide artistic and educational leadership for the String Program, ensuring a high standard of teaching and performance.
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Music to develop and implement the strategic direction of the String Program.
- Coordinate performances, concerts, tours, workshops and external events involving string ensembles.
- Mentor instrumental staff and contribute to curriculum and co-curricular initiatives where appropriate.
- Support student recruitment, retention and progression within the String Program.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff and families, fostering a welcoming and inclusive program
Hours are negotiated with the Head of Music; however, the successful applicant should be available to work on campus at least part of two days per week during school terms. Total contact time is approximately 5/6 hours a week.
An excellent opportunity exists to privately teach students within the College string program in addition to this leadership role.
