This position is full-time and will begin at the commencement of Term 2, 2026 and will conclude on January 27, 2027.

Queen of Peace Catholic Parish Primary School, Altona Meadows, is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic classroom teacher to join our school community. Teachers at Queen of Peace passionately care about children, their learning, safety and wellbeing. Queen of Peace Parish Primary School takes an explicit instructional approach to the teaching of English and Mathematics, in line with the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools'Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement.

The successful applicants will be required to:

• support the Catholic ethos of the school;
• display a strong knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum and MACS Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement.
• provide effective differentiated teaching using data in the key areas of literacy and numeracy. Knowledge of evidence based teaching practice is preferred but not essential.
• provide engaging contemporary learning opportunities across the curriculum.
• build and maintain positive respectful relationships with students, colleagues and families. Knowledge of the Berry Street Education Model is preferred but not essential.
• work flexibly and collaboratively within staff teams;
• have highly effective organisational and communication skills; and
• be committed to professional learning and ongoing improvement.

Prerequisites:

• accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School or preparedness to undertake such study
• a commitment to Catholic ethos
• current VIT registration

Applications are currently open and close on Friday March 13. All applications should include a cover letter (no more than 3 pages) addressing the above requirements, the completed Employment Application document, copy of current VIT card and copy of identification card, e.g. driver's licence. Applicants must have three referees listed. For experienced teachers, your current principal will be contacted so please ensure that they are aware of this.
