Maria Regina Catholic Primary School, Avalon is currently seeking a passionate and skilled Kindergarten Teacher on a 12-month temporary, full-time basis commencing in Term 1, 2026 and concluding at the end of the school year.

Specific Criteria

• Highly effective, skilled Kindergarten teacher committed to the ethos of the Catholic School
• Capacity to contribute to the school’s Continuous Improvement Cycle and is committed to student achievement
• Proven ability to apply outstanding pedagogical practices to create a motivating and engaging learning environment that caters to the needs of all learners
• Skilled in analysing and reflecting on student learning data to ensure learning growth for all students;
• Highly effective in managing and facilitating safe and supportive learning environments with an understanding of positive student welfare practices
• Willingness to contribute to the broader extracurricular aspects of school life as an active member of the school community
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic professional learning community.
• Proficient in the use of technology to enhance student learning
• Extensive knowledge, understanding and skills in teaching early literacy and numeracy to Kindergarten students (for example; phonics (encoding and decoding), phonemic awareness, vocabulary etc).
• Exemplary verbal and written communication skills used to develop a respectful, professional, caring and compassionate rapport with students, parents and other staff members.
• Applicants who are not currently working in a Broken Bay systemic school must have a 4 year training qualification or be enrolled to undertake further study that will provide them with a four year trained qualification to be eligible to apply for any teaching position in the Diocese.
