St John's Primary School is looking for a teacher to take responsibility for a Grade 3/4 class from mid-Term 3 until the end of Term 4. The position is a full-time contract.
The applicant will assume all classroom duties expected of a teacher, including, but not limited to, the following roles and duties:
- Have an understanding of, commitment to, and support for the values and ethos of the Catholic school and the mission of the Catholic Church.
- Have an understanding of the science of learning approaches, contemporary learning spaces and the pedagogies that support them, or a willingness to learn more about these processes.
- Foster and develop appropriate professional relationships with parents, carers and the wider school community.
- Regularly engage in collaborative processes to share knowledge of key learning areas, subjects and pedagogical approaches with colleagues.
- Create a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learner-centred, supportive, cooperative and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents and practices.
- Knowledge and commitment to and support of the Ministerial Order 1359 - Child Safe Standards.

Additional Requirements:
- Appropriate teaching qualifications;
- VIT registration;
- Appropriate first aid qualifications (HLTAID003 or equivalent) are desirable; and
- RE Accreditation - preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of the Multilit Program is advantageous, or experience with other phonics-based approaches to reading, writing and spelling.
