Your New Role

Classroom and learning support (CLS) is a dedicated service that provides a range of resources and assistance to students with disabilities and additional learning needs. It aims to create an inclusive learning environment where all students can reach their full potential. CLS staff work closely with classroom teachers to identify and address students' needs, providing tailored support and strategies. This may include direct instruction, small group work, assistive technology, and behavior management techniques. CLS also offers professional development to teachers, helping them implement effective inclusive practices.

The Position

Permanent Position with Additional Temporary Hours for 2026

  • 20 Hours, 40 Minutes/Fortnight
    • Permanent 10 Hours/Fortnight
    • Temporary (Until December 2026) 10 Hours, 40 Minutes/Fortnight
    • Commencement ASAP
  • Work Schedule
    • Thursday & Friday 8:50 am – 3:00 pm with a 1 hour unpaid break
  • Contract Notes
    • Temporary hours conclude on 18/12/2026, at which point the position reverts to the permanent 10 hours per fortnight.

Essential Criteria

  • Have a sound knowledge of, and a commitment to, the mission of the Catholic school
  • Supports individual students and small groups to engage effectively in learning as directed by the classroom teacher
  • Assists in creating inclusive learning environments that support diverse academic, social, and emotional needs
  • Encourages positive behaviour, independence, and confidence in students
  • Works collaboratively and respectfully with teachers, support staff, and school leadership
  • Upholds the Catholic ethos, values, and mission of St Patrick’s Parish School in daily practice
  • Supports classroom routines, transitions, and the organisation of learning spaces and resources
  • Provides appropriate pastoral care and models respect, empathy, and positive relationships
  • Maintains confidentiality and follows all school policies, child protection, and WHS requirements
  • Demonstrates reliability, flexibility, initiative, and a professional attitude
  • Contributes positively to the wider school community and ongoing professional learning
  • Accreditation for Support Staff in a Catholic School (Category A, Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools, Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga) or willing to achieve.
  • Successful candidate to undergo a National Criminal History Check
  • NSW Working with Children Check
