Role Description/Criteria

Suitably qualified applicants who will make a positive contribution to our professional learning culture, work collaboratively in teams and have a passion for education in an EAL community are encouraged to apply.

• an understanding of, and commitment to, child safety
• the ability to build positive relationships with all students and positive partnerships which welcome and engage families and the wider community
• an understanding of learning and teaching in an EAL community
• confident implementation of contemporary pedagogy to plan and teach with high expectations
• planning that challenges students to reflect, set personal goals and apply their learning
• the capacity to identify and respond to student needs through personalised learning tasks
• positive strategies which cater for students’ well-being needs
• a commitment to ongoing professional improvement and life-long learning
• excellent classroom management skills
• the ability to work collaboratively within teams
• excellent communication and organisational skills

Requirements:

• VIT registration
• suitable teaching qualifications
• experience working with EAL learners is an advantage
• contact details of three referees including your current/most recent Principal.
