Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Chaplain to join our school community. Working with our Chaplaincy team, this pivotal role nurtures the spiritual, religious and pastoral wellbeing of the Scotch College Junior School boys and families. Through leadership in Christian Education curriculum, worship, and community engagement, the Chaplain fosters an environment that upholds the Presbyterian heritage of the school, reinforces our core values, while deepening students’ understanding of the Christian faith
Commencing in 2026, this full time role is also required to design and deliver the Christian Education program for boys in Prep-Year 6 (0.5 teaching load).
The successful applicant will have:
- Values of excellence, respect, responsibility and reverence
- Passion for teaching and working with boys of primary school age
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, marked by integrity and compassion
- Ability to build positive relationships, trust and rapport with students, parents, colleagues and broader school community
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide others
- Mastery of subject knowledge and the proven ability to design and deliver a world-class curriculum (Christian Education)
- Strong personal Christian faith and an active member of a Christian Church
- Demonstrated capacity to maintain confidentiality
- Experience working in Children’s and/or Youth Ministry
- Understanding and supportive of Presbyterian and reformed, evangelical theology
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience
- Relevant qualifications and/or training in child safety and wellbeing
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee) or VIT
