Your New Role

Casual relief teachers (CRT’s) are engaged on a casual basis to temporarily replace absent teachers. Their primary responsibilities are to deliver the curriculum material provided by the absent teacher and to provide a duty of care to the students in the absence of the regular teacher.

The Casual relief teacher will be:

• Committed to the holistic education of the students in their care
• Continuously improving their teaching practice and professional knowledge base

Selection Criteria

• A university degree in the relevant faculty discipline or equivalent with associated qualifications in Education
• Current First Aid
• NESA Teacher Registration
• Current NSW Working With Children Check
• High levels of classroom competence
• Knowledge of the NSW Curriculum
• Knowledge of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
• A high standard of organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and proven ability to relate to staff, students and parents
• An ability to integrate and utilise ICT effectively within the classroom
• Accreditation for Support Staff in a Catholic School (Category A, Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools, Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga) or willing to achieve
