Job Summary

SLSO – Join our Casual List (Inclusive Education Unit)

We are seeking compassionate School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) to join our casual SLSO list to provide cover, when required, within our Inclusive Education Unit. This role requires a calm and positive initiative driven by unconditional positive regard for all students and collaborative teamwork.

• Exhibits unconditional positive regard, respect, and empathy towards students, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, teachers, and the learning support team.
• Works collaboratively as part of a dynamic team to support educational and wellbeing outcomes for students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with toileting and personal care needs across all ages and dependency levels, including washing, bathing, showering, dressing, and changing.
• Support students' school routines and classroom activities under the direction of their teacher.
• Aid the implementation of individual health care plans and behaviour plans to ensure student engagement and safety.
• Provide assistance with mobility and the use of assistive technologies as needed.
• Participate in student welfare and wellbeing activities to support positive learning environments.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student health interventions and support provided.
• Perform other related duties consistent with the School Learning Support Officer role and Department policies.
