Role Description/Criteria

The Position

Loreto Toorak is seeking a highly organised and professional Assistant Chief Examination Supervisor to support the administration and supervision of Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) and internal examinations throughout the 2026 academic year. This casual position is employed directly by Loreto Toorak with rate of pay $55 per hour.

Working under the direction of the Chief Examination Supervisor, the Assistant Chief Examination Supervisor will help manage examination rooms, supervise students, maintain the security of examination materials, and ensure that all VCAA policies and procedures are upheld.

You will assist the Chief Examination Supervisor in guiding a team of Examination Supervisors, fostering a calm, supportive and compliant environment in which students can perform at their best.

The VCAA requirements to be an Assistant Chief Exam Supervisor, state that you are not:

  • Related to, or associated with, any student required to sit the GAT or any student undertaking a VCE Unit 3 or 4 study in 2026.
  • Teaching or tutoring any student required to sit the GAT or any student undertaking a VCE Unit 3 or 4 study in 2026.
  • Related to or associated with any person engaged in teaching, tutoring or coaching any students required to sit the GAT, any students undertaking a VCE Unit 3 or 4 study in 2026, or any school staff engaged in organising or checking VCE external assessment materials on behalf of a school in 2026.
  • Employed at the School in any other capacity, including as a teacher, casual relief teacher (CRT) or member of the administration staff.

Our key dates for 2026 examinations requiring availability are as follows:

  • General Achievement Test (GAT) - Tuesday 16 June
  • Trial English Exam – Monday 20 July
  • Trial Exams – Monday 28 September – Friday 2 October
  • CCAFL exam - Thursday 15 October
  • Written examinations - Monday 26 October– Wednesday 18 November
  • Training dates to be confirmed

About You

The successful candidate will be available for all key examination dates listed above and will ideally have experience in the conduct and administration of VCE and semester examinations, with a strong understanding of VCAA and school compliance requirements. We are also seeking an individual who can play a key support role to the Chief Examination supervisor in all aspects of their role. The successful candidate must hold or be willing to obtain a Working With Children (Employee) Check.
