Pay: £160 - £200 per day (DOE)

Mon-Fri, Daily Hours: 8:00 - 16:00 Full-time / Term time only Chigwell, Essex

About the Role

We are seeking a creative, patient, and passionate Art Teacher to join our dedicated team in a specialist school setting in Chigwell. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about using art as a tool to engage, inspire, and support children and young people with Special Educational Needs.

You will play a key role in helping pupils express themselves creatively, build confidence, and develop their skills in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated art lessons suited to a range of SEN needs
• Support pupils in developing creative, social, and emotional skills through art
• Create a positive, nurturing classroom environment where all students feel valued
• Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet individual learning needs
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff
• Monitor and track pupil progress, providing feedback where appropriate
• Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing in line with school policies
• Ensure safeguarding and health & safety procedures are always followed

Requirements

• A genuine passion for art and working with children with Special Educational Needs
• Previous experience working in an SEN setting (desirable but not essential)
• A patient, calm, and flexible approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities
• Relevant teaching experience or art-based background (preferred)
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
