Role Description/Criteria

We are currently seeking a full time Teacher for a leave replacement contract for Term 2, 2026 (20 April 2026 to 12 July 2026).

The learning areas required are Art, English and Humanities.

Remuneration will be based on experience, following the Teacher scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA).

We seek candidates with strong teamwork abilities, effective classroom management skills, and a dedicated commitment to the values of Catholic Education and contemporary pedagogues.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Creating a child-safe environment for students.
  • Adhering to the school's Child Protection Policy and Child Safety Staff Code of Conduct.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders, such as Class/House Mentors, Education Support Team, Year Level/House Coordinators, School Psychologists, and Directors of Students, to monitor student progress and well-being.
  • Providing timely marking and feedback to student work.
  • Ensuring up-to-date student data management systems.
  • Developing and delivering programs that leverage technology to enhance learning.
  • Setting and maintaining high expectations for student performance standards.
  • Complying with ongoing professional development requirements as per VIT guidelines.
  • Identifying personal professional learning needs and participating in the annual Professional Learning Plan process.
  • Actively engaging in internal and external professional development to enhance teaching practices.
  • Utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively engage students in their learning journey.

Skills/Experience Required:

We require the following qualifications and qualities in the ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification.
  • A strong commitment to Catholic education.
  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education required
  • Ability to build and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Skills to create an engaging, educational, and challenging learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students.
  • An eagerness to learn and grow in the field of education.
  • Proficiency in implementing a differentiated curriculum and leveraging modern technology to support student learning.

Special Requirements:

At De La Salle College, the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children are paramount. Therefore, the successful applicant must demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to providing a safe environment for children.

The successful applicant must hold a valid Victorian Institute of Teaching registration. While accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.
