Admin Assistant - Connected Community School

This is a 12 month fixed term, part-time (0.5 FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2026 with possible extension Roebourne District High School (DHS), situated in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, serves a dynamic and culturally rich community. Our school is deeply connected to the land and the local Aboriginal culture that has shaped this region for thousands of years. The school sits on Ngarluma Ngurra, the Country of the Ngarluma people, and many of our students come from the Ngarluma, Yindjibarndi and Banyjima language groups.

As a Kindergarten to Year 12 (K-12) school, Roebourne DHS provides a continuous and supportive educational journey for students from KindiLink through to Year 12. Our school is unique in its ability to offer students the chance to grow and develop in a familiar and culturally responsive environment throughout their entire schooling experience. The Role

The Connected Community School (CCS) trial is a four-year initiative that aims to connect students and families with greater wellbeing supports, as well as community, health and social services, to improve students' educational and wellbeing outcomes beyond the classroom. Each participating school will work with its community to create locally led, culturally safe and inclusive approaches to work towards addressing local needs with a range of initiatives, such as making services available on site to remove barriers to access. The trial also aims to strengthen ties within the community by developing partnerships and use of school facilities after hours with groups such as local sporting groups, community language groups and other community organisations

We are seeking for someone to provide administrative and clerical support to the Principal and Connected Community School trial team members,

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Assisting the CCS Manager with administering the financial resources of the school, including undertaking account and GST coding, reconciliations, invoice processing, month-end procedures and processing purchase card acquittals.
  • Preparing and distributing meeting agendas and minutes and undertake follow up actions when required.
  • Manage incoming telephone calls, visitor enquiries, diary appointments, meetings, emails and other communications, and
  • Assisting with proof-reading, editing and sub-editing publications and news media communications to ensure Departmental policies and guidelines are adhered to

We highly value applicants with good financial management skills, and experience in providing effective administrative support. The successful applicant will ideally have good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to liaise with individuals at all levels and build and maintain effective working relationships. Initiative and good organisational skills with the ability to identify prioritises and meet conflicting deadlines highly regarded.
