About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented accountant to provide the full finance function for the school. This hands-on role is part of our School’s Administration team, reporting to the Business Manager.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Process fortnightly payroll in line with Enterprise Agreement and legislative requirements
• Fulfil accounts payable function
• Manage accounts receivable, including the processing of billing and liaising with external fee payment provider
• Prepare general ledger reconciliations
• Prepare monthly management reports
• Assist with annual budget preparation and financial forecasting
• Ensure compliance with BAS and other regulatory obligations
• Assist with year-end financial reporting and audit processes
• Support grant applications, financial acquittals and funding compliance
• Contribute to governance, risk management and continuous improvement of financial systems

Key Selection Criteria

• Tertiary qualification (minimum 3 years) in Accounting, Commerce or related discipline
• CPA or CA qualified, or working towards
• Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, compliance and internal controls
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
• Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
• High level of integrity, discretion and professional judgement
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Full working rights in Australia
• Experience in an independent or non-government school (desirable)
• Education-sector payroll experience (desirable)

Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain a current “not-prohibited” SA Working with Children Check and RRHAN-EC certificate prior to commencement of employment.
