About the Role

The 3 - 6 Pastoral Care and Student Wellbeing Leader plays a key role in shaping the holistic student experience across stage 2 and stage 3. This is a teaching and leadership position that requires the ability to balance classroom responsibilities with pastoral leadership. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction and hands-on support in the areas of student welfare, behaviour management, pastoral care, and community engagement all grounded in the Islamic values and ethos of the College.

Reporting to the Head of Junior School, the 3 - 6 Pastoral Care and Student Wellbeing Leader will work collaboratively with the College leadership team, staff, students, and families to build a positive, caring, and connected school environment. Commencing in term 1, 2026 (Monday, 19 January). Generous remuneration above the published 2025 CMEA rates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of student wellbeing, behaviour, and pastoral care in Years 3–6.
  • Support staff in implementing proactive, restorative, and inclusive wellbeing practices.
  • Develop and manage programs that support students’ mental health, resilience, and personal growth.
  • Promote and uphold the College’s Islamic values through daily practice and community engagement.
  • Oversee student behaviour, wellbeing records, attendance, and duty of care matters.
  • Coordinate support for students at risk, including Individual Education Plans and wellbeing interventions.
  • Liaise with parents, staff, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for students.
  • Maintain accurate pastoral records and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Lead student leadership initiatives, community service projects, and wellbeing activities.
  • Support co-curricular, house, and camp programs that strengthen school culture.
  • Assist with NCCD and wellbeing-related grants and compliance.
  • Provide professional learning opportunities for staff related to student wellbeing and pastoral care.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive Junior School culture aligned with College values.
