The Town of Bassendean runs two child care centres known as Wind in the Willows Childcare.
This is a community based, not-for-profit service that operates over two locations, providing high quality care and early childhood education for children aged 0 to 5 years. The two locations run as one continual service, with children and staff transitioning from Bassendean to Ashfield as needed.
Both services are rated as Exceeding the national quality standard and are passionate about the care and education they provide. Most Educators are long standing employees with the majority having at least a Diploma qualification, as well as a number of qualified Early Childhood Teachers.
A play-based curriculum guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (a nationally recognised curriculum framework for children 0-5) supports the education and care of the children enrolled. With principles of connectedness to nature and community being of paramount importance, the emotional wellbeing of children and families is prioritised.
