About Us

Working in partnership with you to provide an Islamic educational experience for your child.

Alhamdulillah. All praise belongs to Allah alone. In 2015 Taqwa School opened its doors to families wanting an outstanding learning environment for their children within an Islamic context. Taqwa School gives children the knowledge, skills and dispositions to achieve their potential and contribute positively to the Muslim community, Australian society, and humanity at large.

Families have been quick to appreciate the benefits of our community school, which offers Islamic and Arabic Studies along with student-centered individual and collaborative learning. Taqwa School is academic, inclusive, and forward-thinking.

Our Curriculum

Taqwa School is a community dedicated to providing a holistic approach to learning in compliance with the Islamic Ethos.

At Taqwa School we deliver the Australian Curriculum, whilst upholding the values of Islam. Our learning environment has been established on the basis of creating and maintaining a learning community. We come together to learn and share our achievements. Individual students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, whilst our staff offer encouragement, motivation and guidance. We actively encourage collaboration, leadership and innovation.

This shared commitment is achieved through the formation of lively ‘communities of practice’ and the ongoing cultivation of the idea that all members of Taqwa School – students, staff, parents and friends – are part of a learning community.

Taqwa values

Taqwa is an Islamic School that values excellence, respect, responsibility, intercultural understanding, and fairness.

  • Excellence is achieved through holding high expectations for our staff and students. We encourage each other to achieve our best through listening, self-discipline, and persistence.
  • Respect, we learn to give and receive respect when we are able to understand how our actions and beliefs impact ourselves and others. We value and respect each other and our differences when individually, we are treated with kindness, empathy, and understanding.
  • Responsibility in our community is shared. We take care to help each other and to be attentive to the needs of others and ourselves.
  • Multicultural Awareness, we encourage the students to develop a critical understanding of the intercultural differences and similarities between themselves and others. It is through this process that we can truly begin to develop an appreciation of the diversity of human experience.
  • Fairness is considered paramount to success. We encourage students to defend not only their rights as human beings but the rights of others.
