The Festival of Music is an educational music program which culminates in a series of performances in Adelaide and in ten regions across South Australia. It involves 300 primary schools across the state. The Festival of Music is a joint state-wide venture of the Department for Education and the South Australian Public Primary Schools Music Society and is governed by the Board of the Music Society and the Manager PSMF.
The PSMF Troupe Manager works collaboratively with the Manager and the PSMF Team to stage a concert series. The Troupe Manager reports to, and is responsible to, the PSMF Manager and the Director of Music.The Troupe Manager is a 0.2 FTE position (1 day per week at the PSMF office - Thursdays), with up to approximately 40 extra irregular working days across the school year.The successful applicant, if already employed by Department for Education, must be able to negotiate release for the extra times with their site manager. TRT days will be provided as required.
Based at the PSMF Office Klemzig, the Troupe Manager is responsible for the following outcomes:
* Troupe information and promotional materials are distributed to department schools and relevant outside bodies.
* Appropriate audition processes, workshops and the formulation of the performance troupes.
* Oversight of the artistic direction of the performance Troupe.
* Volunteer support personnel and venues for auditions, workshops and weekly rehearsals are sourced.
* Information is distributed to troupe coordinators, schools, students, parents, PSMF personnel and performance venues regarding arrangements and requirements of troupe members.
* Knowledge of the technical requirements of dance and drama rehearsals and performances including knowledge of relevant departmental policies and practices.
