As a TAFE Plumbing Teacher, you will play a key role in developing skilled tradespeople who are ready to meet industry standards and workforce demand. You will deliver practical, job-relevant training across workshops, classrooms, online environments, and workplace settings.

Each day, you will see the direct impact of your teaching as students build technical competence, problem-solving skills, and the confidence required to succeed in the plumbing industry and related career pathways.

The Role

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a 12-month temporary full-time position within our Plumbing Educational Delivery team at TAFE Queensland SkillsTech. Working across multiple campuses such as Acacia Ridge, Eagle Farm and Caboolture.

As a TAFE Teacher in Plumbing, you will play a vital role in shaping the careers of the next generation by sharing your expertise and industry experience with students across classroom and practical learning environments.

This position reports directly to the relevant Business Manager and Educational Team Leader.

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must possess CPC32420 Certificate III in Plumbing, or equivalent or QBCC Plumbing Licence and the following:

  • current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
  • current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;
  • evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment;

Additionally, to become a TAFE Queensland teacher you must hold, or be willing to obtain, a qualification in adult education. Primarily this qualification is TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or equivalent.  

Please note applicants need not necessarily possess teaching experience, as the right candidate may be trained and developed through coaching, mentoring and partnering. Importance is placed on possession of the appropriate qualifications, industry experience and the right attitude.
