Remuneration package valued at up to $156,253.00. Base salary ranges from $90,177.00 to $137,861.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience.

Position Information

Sir Joseph Banks High School is a comprehensive high school with a current enrolment of 962 mainstream students and a Support Unit of 72 students catering for 3 Intellectually Mild, 3 Intellectually Moderate/AU classes and 1 AU class. We are a vibrant and proudly inclusive, multicultural learning community (85% LBOTE), with 25 Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island students, who have built a strong learning culture of Excellence, Innovation, Opportunity and Success. 

We are proudly inclusive and utilise the wide range of cultural and language backgrounds as opportunities to deepen and enrich student learning. Our school is building teacher capacity through professional learning teams who are working on Future Focused Learning and implementing Project Based Learning, Visible Learning and Growth Mindset as part of our curriculum. There are highly developed strong partnerships with our primary partners through the development of a Community of Schools, local, metropolitan and global businesses through Australian Business Community Network, several TAFEs and all major universities.

Selection Criteria

  1. Approval to teach Technology Mandatory 7-8
  2. Well developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with the capacity to work as a collaborative member of the TAS faculty and contribute to whole school programs.
  3. Demonstrated capacity to provide engaging and challenging differentiated lessons and programs to cater for student diversity and students with additional learning and support needs.
  4. Proven ability to manage practical work spaces to ensure student safety, full participation and high levels of engagement in lessons.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

This advertisement is for two (2) teacher positions. 

Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE.
