This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026

Champion Bay Senior High School (CBSHS) is seeking to appoint a passionate and innovative Teacher to join their friendly team as a Teacher within our Future Pathways Program in 2026.

About the School

CBSHS is the largest Independent Public School in the Midwest region of Western Australia. We have a strong commitment to continuous improvement in teaching and learning through reflective practice with a focus on quality teaching and learning, as detailed in our business plan. The care we offer each and every student defines our purpose. We have a rigorous student services and wellbeing program which has been set up to ensure all our students are well cared for socially, emotionally, physically and academically. Staff and students work together to demonstrate our agreed values of ‘Respect, Aspire and Resilience.’

The Location and Community

The City of Greater Geraldton (CGG) is one of 9 regions of WA and has much to offer in terms of sport, culture and tourism. With a population of approximately 40,000, the CGG covers an area of approximately 472,000 square kilometres and includes the towns of Mullewa and Walkaway. Apart from the significant sporting and cultural activities on offer, Geraldton itself is renowned for its quality lifestyle. Geraldton is the centre of the WA rock lobster industry along with the productive agricultural region that extends to the north, south and east of the city. An important part of the town is the Geraldton Port Authority which is responsible for moving a significant variety of produce such as grain, mineral sands, iron ore and other goods. During the wildflower season, the outlying areas of Geraldton are renowned for their stunning wildflowers.

The Role

This role will suit someone who is highly motivated, relationship-focused and passionate about creating exciting learning experiences to ignite a desire to learn for all students.

The Future Pathways Program is for Year 11 and 12 students who are aspiring to remain engaged in education and are seeking an alternative to the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE). Students complete qualifications, endorsed programs and certificate level training focused on preparation for work and further training. The program is delivered at CBSHS and in partnership with offsite service providers and organisations. The Future Pathways Program is a 2 year program. At the completion of Year 12, students will receive a Western Australian Statement of Student Achievement (WASSA) and a Student Portfolio of completed certificates.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop high level teaching skills in a supportive environment to significantly improve the future of students at educational risk. Our ideal applicant is a teacher who aspires for academic excellence and is committed to high quality teaching and learning. Professional knowledge and understanding of trauma informed practice and supporting students’ social and emotional wellbeing is preferred. A sound understanding of The Western Australian Curriculum and the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework will be critical to this role.
