Chester Hill Public School is committed to providing innovative and enriched teaching and learning experiences. The school has 580 students with 77% coming from non-English speaking backgrounds. We have less than one percent indigenous students. Our 2025 Family Occupation & Education Index (FOEI) is 141. Term 1 of 2026 will see the establishment of our new Support Unit consisting of three Autism (Au) classes.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach special education and/or demonstrated experience or a willingness to teach students with disabilities, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, mild intellectual disabilities, and additional communication needs.
- Demonstrated capacity to plan, deliver, and evaluate tailored programs that are engaging and culturally inclusive, with a focus on student engagement and wellbeing.
- Demonstrated expertise in classroom management strategies that effectively address the diverse learning and behaviour needs of students.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills that promote collaboration with staff and positive partnerships with parents, carers, community members, support agencies, and students.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
