Teacher - Science
The School
Since 1921, Pinjarra Senior High School (SHS) has proudly served the community of Pinjarra and its surrounding region. The school provides a blend of traditional and innovative programs designed to prepare students from year 7 – 12 for higher education, vocational training and employment.
At Pinjarra SHS we are committed to developing a learning culture wherein all members of our school community are empowered to grow through being innovative, connected and resilient. We seek to foster and develop Growth Mindsets in our staff and students through targeted pedagogy and professional learning, with a clear focus on quality teaching and learning strategies to facilitate purposeful engagement for all students. This approach underpins our instructional model and forms part of the overall strategy to develop confidence and agency in our students during their secondary school years, captured in our school vision, ‘Growing Learners for Life’. Supporting this vision, the school is equipped with a range of high-quality, modern facilities, including a Trade Training Centre, a new state-of-the-art Sports Hall and Performing Arts Centre, and a purpose-built Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) facility.
To create a safe and supported learning environment, we expect all teaching staff to be trained in Classroom Management Strategies (CMS), Instructional Strategies for Engagement (ISE), and Peer Observation and Feedback. We are a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) school that promotes Tolerance, Respect, Unity and Embracing Opportunities as our core values. Positive behaviour is modelled by staff and expected of all students. Collectively, we act to enhance wellbeing and safety for everyone in our school community.
