About the Role

This role will suit someone who is relationship-focused and highly motivated to create exciting, culturally responsive learning experiences that ignite a love of learning in students. You will be teaching in a very small multi-age class of less than 10 students, split across two classes, providing a unique opportunity for targeted and meaningful instruction.

The successful applicant will ideally possess:

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff, and the wider community
  • Experience and skills in evidence-based literacy teaching pedagogies
  • Expertise or a commitment to develop skills in targeted teaching/Explicit Instruction
  • Experience in, or knowledge of, the Kimberley Schools Project (KSP) (desirable)

As a teacher in a KSP school, if not already trained must commit to completing KSP-delivered training to ensure continuity of the Explicit Instruction strategies embedded in our literacy program.

You will ideally be committed to Aboriginal Education, with the ability to create an inclusive, supportive, and stimulating learning environment. We value educators who have a strong work ethic, are flexible and open to change, and who continuously strive for excellence. A commitment to data-informed practice and ongoing self-reflection is highly regarded.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Dawul Remote Community School in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $3 000(pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
