The Role
Karratha PS is seeking a dedicated part-time Kindergarten and Education Support Teacher to join our team. As an Inclusive School Model with an endorsed Education Support program, Karratha PS caters for mainstream students, education support students and those with additional needs within a cohesive mainstream environment. This role includes teaching in both a mainstream Kindergarten classroom and our Education Support setting. The position is advertised as 0.6 FTE, with a strong likelihood of being able to offer increased hours.
Quality Teaching
Our teachers develop a strong knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and are skilled in effectively differentiating the curriculum to cater for Kindergarten to Year 6 students. We are passionate about providing our students with access to high quality teaching, as we raise the bar and close the gap, and empower our students to thrive. We are focused on teaching using an evidence-based instructional model and developing the priority areas we have identified in Teaching for Impact. This is additionally supported through the engagement of coaching with Shaping Minds. We are dedicated to delivering learning support that is responsive to and inclusive of the diverse and challenging needs that students may bring, and utilise trauma informed practices including the Berry Street Education Model. Our energised and committed staff prioritise an orderly, harmonious school environment, where a strong sense of belonging is nurtured for all. Support is provided for our teachers through in-school coaching and mentoring avenues, targeted at each individual teacher’s needs.
