Chevalier College seeks applications for this full-time, permanent Teacher of PDHPE position commencing January 2026.

Teacher Role Requirements

  • Recognised teacher education qualifications and NESA accreditation to teach in NSW schools.
  • Ability and qualifications to teach PDHPE.

At Chevalier College, teachers strategically work in teams to collaboratively plan, prepare, teach, assess and evaluate student learning. As such, they are required to:

  • support and assist the mission of Catholic education in the way of Jules Chevalier and the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC).
  • see themselves as learners and be committed to ongoing professional learning.
  • work collaboratively with other teachers to design learning experiences where students exercise choice to demonstrate knowledge and understanding.
  • enhance social skills and nurture the growth of enterprise skills including learner agency, self-regulated learning, critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration for each student.
  • use summative data and formative data, including observations, annotations and work samples, to inform ‘next steps’ for key learning outcomes.
  • demonstrate deep understanding of curriculum which informs subject disciplinary knowledge.
  • use digital technology as an enabler and accelerator for student and teacher learning.
  • regularly provide students with feedback as part of the teaching and learning cycle.
  • be open to growth and development through professional learning experiences which include classroom observations, practice analysis conversations and input from Leaders of Learning.
  • uphold an extracurricular commitment which requires afternoon coaching two days a week and attendance at Saturday fixtures for up to 14 weeks for either a winter or summer season.
  • know and apply New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA) guidelines.

  • Full-time, permanent teaching position commencing January 2026.
  • Salary and conditions will be as per the NSW Catholic Independent Schools (Teachers – Model B) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2023.
  • The preferred applicant is required to undertake extracurricular responsibilities as part of the employment arrangements at the College.
  • This is a child-related position. Preferred candidates are required to possess a valid a Working With Children Check and will be subject to identification verification.
