The Role
Ocean Reef SHS is seeking an experienced, innovative and passionate Home Economics Teacher. This is an opportunity to join a high performing and well-resourced teaching team that adopts a collegial and supportive approach.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally display the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to deliver and assess the Western Australian Home Economics curriculum to Year 12 level. Within the Home Economics area, a range of subjects are offered at Ocean Reef SHS including Food Science & Technology from Years 8 to 12, Textiles and Child Development from Year 9 leading into Year 11 and 12 Children, Family & Community and Certificate III in Tourism. As part of the broader Technologies team the willingness to deliver Digital Technologies is an advantage.
The successful applicant should have highly effective interpersonal skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including students, staff and community members. You should engage in reflective practice and should be committed to whole-school pedagogical approaches. Effective classroom management, the ability to differentiate curriculum to cater for individual student needs and promote an environment of active and positive learning are also a strong focus for the position.

- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.

- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
