The Role

Harrisdale SHS is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and proactive Home Economics (Food) Teacher to join our dedicated Technologies team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving and growing school community that values academic excellence, innovation, and student engagement.

The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering engaging and meaningful Year 7–12 Food Technology courses. Experience teaching Home Economics (Food) across Years 7–12 is highly regarded, and the ability to deliver Certificate II in Cookery and/or Hospitality is desirable.

We are seeking a teacher who ideally:

  • Is confident in delivering engaging Food Technology lessons that inspire and motivate students;
  • Creates a safe, inclusive, and accountable learning environment;
  • Differentiates the curriculum to support and challenge learners across a range of abilities;
  • Integrates current and emerging curriculum and technologies to meet the diverse needs of students;
  • Has strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment;
  • Demonstrates reflective practice and a commitment to continuous improvement;
  • Models the school’s values of Care, Respect, Responsibility, and Excellence.
