We are seeking to establish a pool of English Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Joseph Banks Secondary College (SC), an Independent Public School, is located in the suburb of Banksia Grove, approximately 27 kilometres from the Perth Central Business District (CBD). We currently accept students from Years 7 to 12. The vision for Joseph Banks SC is to create a vibrant culture of excellence, innovation, opportunity and success for students, staff and the community. The focus of our work is on quality teaching and provision of the widest range of opportunities for individual achievement and learning success. The Role

Suitable applicants will ideally be passionate and dedicated educators, highly motivated to work in a collaborative team environment. You should ideally be able to provide students with a purposeful and engaging learning experience to develop their understanding and appreciation of English.

You should ideally have high expectations, exhibit a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and can establish and maintain a positive and engaging classroom-learning environment. Suitable applicants will ideally display an ability to work as a collaborative team member and you should be committed to the development of strong professional learning communities focussed on student achievement and success.

Strong knowledge and skills in the delivery of English Senior Secondary courses including Literature is highly desirable. Suitable applicants will ideally provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Suitable applicants will ideally have excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and able to teach students of varying ability levels across Year 7 to 12 in a highly engaging manner.

As such, suitable applicants will ideally possess a repertoire of teaching strategies to engage students, having knowledge of and experience in, a range of instructional strategies and tactics. A strong working knowledge of teaching strategies to support literacy skills development and strong performance in National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) and Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA) and demonstrated ability in the effective integration of innovative and engaging Information Communication Technology (ICT) based technologies and cooperative learning instructional strategies is highly desirable.
