This is a permanent, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026 Champion Bay Senior High School (CBSHS) is seeking to appoint a passionate and innovative Teacher to join our diverse and friendly English and Humanities and Social Sciences teams in 2026.

The Location and Community

The City of Greater Geraldton (CGG) is one of 9 regions of WA and has much to offer in terms of sport, culture and tourism. With a population of approximately 40,000, the CGG covers an area of approximately 472,000 square kilometres and includes the towns of Mullewa and Walkaway. Apart from the significant sporting and cultural activities on offer, Geraldton itself is renowned for its quality lifestyle. Geraldton is the centre of the WA rock lobster industry along with the productive agricultural region that extends to the north, south and east of the city. An important part of the town is the Geraldton Port Authority which is responsible for moving a significant variety of produce such as grain, mineral sands, iron ore and other goods. The Role

We seek motivated applicants with a passion for teaching English as well as some Humanities and Social Sciences at the secondary level. You will have a solid understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum in both areas. You should possess the professional knowledge, understandings, and experience to develop and implement an engaging and relevant Teaching and Learning program. In your role you will deliver a curriculum tailored to the diverse needs of all students, fostering an environment where every student is empowered to reach their full potential. Teachers and school administrators employed at Champion Bay Senior High School in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $2 000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
