Monto State High School is accepting applications for an enthusiastic and passionate Teacher Aide to join the Industrial Technology and Design (ITD) team on a permanent, part-time basis, working 3 days per week.
The successful applicant will support teaching staff in delivering high quality, authentic learning experiences to students in the Manual Arts Department whilst complying with workplace health and safety requirements.
This position is being offered in a Permanent Part-Time capacity (0.47FTE), 36 hours per fortnight.

Your Role:
The Manual Arts Teacher Aide is an integral part of the Technologies Faculty. There are no mandatory qualificationsh however, specialised knowledge and skills in the operation of industrial technology and design equipment and machinery is highly recommended. All ITD machinery, plant and equipment is potentially hazardous and misuse can lead to significant consequences. To demonstrate a minimum standard of competency, it is recommended that technical training on standard plant and equipment and related maintenance tasks be undertaken.
Responsibilities include:
The responsibilities of the Manual Arts Teacher Aide include:
- Provide specialised classroom support for practical workshop activities.
- Prepare project materials, tools and machinery for curriculum and assessment activities.
- Undertake regular maintenance of tools, equipment and machinery.
- Assist with supervision of students during breaks.
- Contributing to the welfare, health and safety of students.
- Displaying confidentiality, tact and reliability to other staff as well as students and their families.
- Assist in the supervision of education activities in general learning areas, under the direction of a teacher.
- Communicating effectively and displaying a high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.

There are no mandatory qualifications. However, specialised knowledge and skills in the operation of industrial technology and design equipment and machinery is highly recommended.
