This is an exciting opportunity for three passionate Advisory Visiting Teachers- English as an Additional Language or Dialect to join our dynamic team based at Hope Island. These roles offer the opportunity to work across schools in South East Region, supporting educators and students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. You will play a critical role in enhancing outcomes for students, working collaboratively with school teams, teachers, and families.
As the Advisory Visiting Teacher, you will work within school and regional teams to assist classroom teachers and curriculum leaders, to develop and effectively implement responses to support the curriculum and language needs of all English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) learners
For a full outline of the role responsbilities please refer to the role description, some responibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Assist classroom teachers with planning, preparation and delivery of effective learning and teaching programs for all EAL/D students focusing on English language acquisition across the curriculum.
- Maintain teaching expertise and knowledge of evidence based, effective teaching practices to improve learning across the curriculum for all EAL/D students.
- Provide expertise, support and professional development at whole school, and individual teacher levels on pedagogy and assessment that accommodates the social and learning needs of all EAL/D students.
- Work collaboratively with other specialist teachers (for example, Support Teacher (Literacy and Numeracy), and classified teachers (for example, Guidance Officers) to coordinate services which improve the learning outcomes for all EAL/D students.

- Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. - In addition to registration, teachers working in Education and Care Services (including State Delivered Kindergarten programs) require an exemption card issued by Blue Card Services. For more information on blue cards and exemption cards, please CLICK HERE.
- Employment for pre-service/graduate teachers will be subject to the successful completion of a relevant teaching qualification and meeting the minimum requirements as a teacher with the department.
