Secondary TAS Teacher – Woodwork, Manufacturing & Welding
AUD$75,000 - AUD$110,000 per annum
Permanent, full-time Secondary (Years 9–12)
Location: Biloela, QLD, Australia. To relocate.
Start Date: Term 1, 2026
Talent Focus is seeking a passionate and skilled TAS Teacher to join a close-knit regional school community. This role focuses on delivering high-quality teaching in Woodwork, Manufacturing, and Welding for Years 9–12, including at least one senior class. Biloela is a thriving Central Queensland regional town in Australia with a strong community feel, excellent local services, and diverse industry. The area offers a relaxed lifestyle, beautiful surrounding bushland, and easy driving access to major centres such as Rockhampton and Gladstone. You will have the opportunity to help students develop practical skills and pathways into trades and industry, including working alongside external training providers to support senior students in achieving vocational qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging TAS lessons across Woodwork, Manufacturing, and Welding.
- Support students in developing practical skills and industry-ready capabilities.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain and develop the practical learning program.
- Embed Christian values and support the pastoral care and personal development of students.

Key Requirements
- Ability to teach TAS subjects including Woodwork, Manufacturing, and Welding.
- A 3-year bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, plus a 1-year PGCE or equivalent teacher training program
- Previous classroom experience preferred, ideally with exposure to secondary students across a range of year levels.
- Additional skills in Science, PE, or another subject area are highly desirable.
- Strong classroom management and the ability to inspire students in hands-on learning.
- Commitment to Christian values and the ethos of the school.
- Willingness to work collaboratively in a small school environment.
